Out of small villages of the Warli community where the people still live in mud huts and cook their food over wood fires comes an art that looks simple at first glance, but which actually contains whole stories about the lives of its artists.
Feluda’s cases take the trio on various adventures not only in India, but across the world. They travel to Rajasthan in search of a ‘golden fortress’; to Tamil Nadu as bodyguards of a child prodigy; to London to trace down a client’s school-friend, a to Hong-Kong to track down an art-thief, among many others.
I am not much of a poet, but one fine day I decided to try my mind at it. I could not come up with anything heart-rending or sentimental or even thoughtful. What I did come up with was a story fit for kids who love fairy-tales. So I decided to just turn that into

Four sleuths, four murderers, and a Mephistopheles at a party. Dinner is served. They get up and move into an adjacent room. The four murderers divide themselves into two pairs and play bridge together. The four sleuths do the same, in a smaller adjacent room where the second bridge table has been set up. The Mephistopheles decides to take a nap on a chair in front of the fire. A simple game of bridge turns dangerous, and the Mephistopheles is killed.
